Meet the Stokke Trailz Terrain

The Stokke Trailz Terrain is a premium, all-terrain stroller that has a strong frame, air-filled (inflatable) wheels, and a sizable storage basket. It was once known as the Stokke Crusi before it was discontinued and replaced by the Stokke Trailz Classic.

Value for Money

This stroller is not cheap to purchase! It costs approximately $1,299 on Amazon. A bumper bar, insect net, and rain cover are included. There’s one hiccup – at just over 15kg with the seat, you will probably need to consider a lighter stroller for trips and running errands, so please plan for that.

What parents say

“It rides well on any terrain. It doesn’t offer much for the money, though.” – M. May 7, 2022, 4 stars

“I think it’s too expensive for what it offers. We frequently get issues with the wheels.” – M. February 3, 2020, 3 stars

“This stroller is of high quality, sturdy construction, and has high safety standards. As for the cost, it does have some significant drawbacks.” – L. 3 stars

“Being one of the priciest strollers on the market, I’m devastated that I’ve had such a horrible experience with it. Also, the extras you wish to add to your stroller are rather expensive.” – M. 3 stars

Ease of Use

You’ll find the one-step brake of the Stokke Trailz Terrain near the right rear wheel. It’s not suitable for flip-flops.

Although this stroller’s fold is simple, it calls for several steps and both hands. You must first remove the seat. Then, move the handle down while pulling on two of the frame’s levers to fold the frame. The back of the basket must then be folded, two distinct frame levers must be pulled, and the handlebar must be fully lowered before the frame can be folded.

What parents say

“Looking back, I should have given simplicity of use more consideration when buying this for my firstborn, rather than the label and appearance. This stroller is incredibly attractive, sturdy, and has a ton of capacity and storage compartments, but it’s also very big, bulky to move and store, and very difficult to disassemble.” – L. 3 stars

Portability

This buggy weighs a lot! Its combined weight with the seat is 30 lbs. Fortunately, you will never have to hoist it up with the seat because you must take the seat out before folding the frame.

If you’re preparing to go grocery shopping with the Trailz Terrain, you’ll be pleased to discover a sizable basket that has enough of space for your belongings. In addition, you may hang your luggage off the handlebar without worrying that the stroller would topple over because it is a rather heavy stroller.

What parents say

“The frame requires a large vehicle. It simply takes up space on the rear seats.” – M. June 13, 2022, 5 stars

“The limited storage, though, is a drawback for me. Loading it into the car is a chore.” – Z. March 3, 2022, 4 stars

“My husband dislikes this stroller. Every time he puts it in the car, he gets irritated. When folded, the chassis doesn’t lock, and it completely fills the trunk of the vehicle.” – M. February 3, 2020, 3 stars

Maneuverability

This stroller’s all-terrain wheels are undoubtedly its best feature. These are air-filled rubber wheels that can go on any surface, including grass, sand, and snow. In the city, where the roads are frequently better than the trails, you may simply take it off the beaten path or take it for a lengthy stroll.

Its back wheels are 12”, while the front wheels are 9.5”. The swivel front wheels can be locked straight to better handle more difficult terrain.

What parents say

“This stroller’s large tires contribute to a smooth ride. I’m wondering why not everyone has one.” – M July 2, 2015, 5 stars

Safety and Quality

The frame/chassis of the Stokke Trailz Terrain is sturdy. It sports a cushioned, adjustable 5-point harness with a challenging-to-open center release buckle. Your three-year-old will be unable to flee! The rear of the seat may be used to simply adjust the harness, which has three configurations.

What parents say

“It is a nice stroller with a solid design and excellent construction.” – A. November 15, 2017, 3 stars

“Stokke, one word, sums everything up. A wonderful design with high standards for quality and functionality.” – S. August 20, 2015, 5 stars

“I’ve been doing maintenance and lubrication tasks. Sadly, after eight months, the stroller began to creak. I sincerely don’t know which area of the chassis I haven’t lubricated yet, but the noise makes me fear the stroller will disintegrate.” – M. February 3, 2020, 3 stars

Accessorize Your Stokke Trailz Terrain

Good news! The rain cover and bug net are included. :c)

On the other hand, the bassinet is a separate purchase. Replace the seat with a bassinet to transform your stroller into a chic pram. To keep your baby snug and secure, this bassinet includes a soft interior and a hard-shell outside. It can be used from birth and up to 20 lbs.

Parent Tip!

The bassinet can be quite handy during the chilly winter months. A bassinet offers a lot more shelter and protection from the chilly wind than a stroller seat, so if you had your baby in the fall, you might wish to purchase one.

Should You Consider the Stokke Trailz Terrain for Your Family?

Your child will appreciate this stroller’s sturdy construction, long lifespan, plush seat, and big wheels.

The size of the stroller itself and the need to disassemble it to close it or store it in a car boot are its main downsides, in some parents’ opinion.

This stroller is perfect for you if you don’t drive, live in the country, or frequently take your infant for walks. On top of that, if you’re on the lookout for a stroller that can handle bumpier ground, the Stokke Trailz Terrain could be a great stroller option to look into.
