Meet the Baby Jogger City Select

The Baby Jogger City Select might be the last stroller you’ll ever need, regardless of whether you’re looking for a travel system, a pram, a double stroller, a triple stroller, or just a single stroller.

This stroller is the most adaptable stroller on the market right now. It was created to keep your family moving as it expands from one child to two (or even three!) with the added glider board. Just bear in mind that running with the City Select is not recommended.

With 16 different configurations, the Baby Jogger City Select is an all-inclusive tandem stroller. Its seat can be reclined for sleeping and it also has a bucket position that’s great if you’re looking for your child to take naps during your stroll through town.

To create more space for your toddler or baby, you can use a conversion kit which raises both seats together so they’re at eye level. You can buy additional accessories such as car seats/carrycots which allow this amazing stroller to turn into a tandem with two separate single seated units – all while keeping the siblings safe, thanks their safety features like the reflectors.

Is the Baby Jogger City Select the Right Stroller for You?

With 16 configurations, this stroller can be used as a tandem, giving your children more room to move around or sleep comfortably! Most parents love the adaptability of its different configurations, substantial storage, and robustness of its frame and fabric.

How’s the seat?

You’ll never have trouble finding room as there are two seats – one with extra legroom so baby feels safe while sitting upright. The other seat converts into a carrycot or car seat when necessary; please note that you must use these parts together. Remember to combine the siblings sets because this versatile unit allows up to two children. To accommodate another child, just add a glider board.

Unfortunately, some parents are not entirely happy with the seats because adding a second seat reduces the amount of room available for the second child in the stroller.

What parents say

“The second seat gets cramped if a heavier child sits in the front. Legroom is gone on the second seat.” –S. November 19, 2021, 5 stars

Parent Tip!

If you are planning to order the color “JET 2019”, please note that it is not black or even a dark color, as associated with the words “jet black”. One parent was so annoyed when she saw the color of her City Select stroller when it was delivered to her.

How’s the performance of its wheels/tires and suspension system?

The City Select’s larger wheels with a suspension system can handle even slightly rougher terrain, thanks to its foam-filled rear tires which add stability when navigating obstacles in your path. As opposed to strollers with four shocks or adjustable suspension, this stroller has front-wheel shocks that are not adjustable and don’t offer as much comfort.

The ride is improved by its larger rubber wheels as opposed to strollers with plastic wheels. While it is impossible to push this stroller with one hand in confined quarters, it is doable in open areas since you have a bigger space to turn and doesn’t require accuracy.

What parents say

“This stroller has no issues riding on grass or uneven terrain, thanks to its big wheels and light weight.” J. December 2, 2020, 5 stars

“If a heavier child sits in front, it can be difficult to push this stroller over curbs.” – S. November 19, 2021, 5 stars

“The front wheel came off while my child was in this stroller. What a massive mess! We had to lug a three-wheeled stroller home.” – N. July 5, 2019, 1 star

Does it have a compact and secure fold?

This stroller folds down small enough that you could easily take it along on camping trips, where storage might be limited. You’ll find yourself having fun exploring new places, knowing that your kids are comfy moving towards whatever destination awaits.

However, some parents have found it difficult to fold, plus it doesn’t click into place.

What parents say

“This stroller folds up large. However, I believe you lose the quality and sturdiness when strollers fold small.” – J. June 17, 2021, 5 stars

“It was great when we took it to Disneyland. It was just difficult to fold.” – C. March 11, 2020, 5 stars

“No place for legs on second seat. Still nice, but amazing as a single-child stroller.” – S. November 19, 2021, 5 stars

“I don’t like that this stroller doesn’t click into place when folded up.” – E. January 15, 2021, 2 stars

Does it have ample storage space?

The City Select’s spacious storage basket is a wonderful feature. With a maximum weight capacity of 15 lbs., it’s big! An extra-large diaper bag can fit into it with no problems, and there is even room for more stuff. It has an elasticized back and a zipped front, plus it can be accessed from all sides.

What parents say

“Excellent basket on the stroller frame. It’s enormous! I like being able to open the zipper to make additional room or just to get a better view of the stuff I have in the basket.” J. December 2, 2020, 5 stars

Do accessories come with the Baby Jogger City Select?

This stroller doesn’t come with any accessories such as a parent console, child tray, cup holder, the second seat, and the glider board. You can easily find these items on Amazon.

We appreciate that it may not be enticing to buy extra accessories because it merely means paying more. But if these accessories would make your life as a parent simpler, more reasonably priced universal attachments are easily accessible on web marketplaces.

What parents say

“Given that my child is only 2 years old and only weights 33 lbs., I didn’t anticipate needing to make an early glider board investment. He is not even close to the maximum weight.” – A. September 5, 2020, 2 stars

Is the Baby Jogger City Select a Good Buy?

On top of its current price on Amazon at $349.99, there are a lot of attachments to consider purchasing. While this everyday stroller isn’t your average stroller, it doesn’t tick all the boxes. It is bulky compared with other available options in the market.

Based on the results of our survey, we give this stroller a 7/10 in terms of value for money, quality, structure, and aesthetic looks.

Since other strollers on the market do not offer 16 different configurations, parents are quite happy with this stroller’s functionality and features, specifically in terms of safety. On the other hand, not everyone is pleased with the City Select’s overall quality or durability.

We hope that our brief review would help parents to determine if this is the stroller they’re looking for.

There are always other cheaper picks that can perform better, so it always helps to do some research. Choose the stroller that is right for your family’s needs without sacrificing the quality and comfort you and your baby deserve!
