Meet the Baby Jogger City Versa Stroller

A luxurious stroller from Baby Jogger, the City Versa blends elements from the City Mini and City Select models. Its key characteristic is a reversible seat, which allows your infant to face you or the outside world.

Other useful features include wide canopy, adjustable handlebar, manual parking brake, and quick one-hand fold. The City Versa has an adjustable footrest too, just like most high-end strollers.

Update: This stroller has already been discontinued.

Value for Money

Kindly note that this stroller has been discontinued by Baby Jogger. When it could still be purchased on Amazon, it cost between $339 and $399, depending on color availability.

Most parents have found the City Versa to be a reasonably priced stroller that is well made and comfortable, and they are happy with their purchase.

The City Versa can be used from 6 months and up to 50 lbs. It’s not recommended for newborns, but if you’d like to use it from birth, it can be converted into a travel system by getting a bassinet or an infant car seat adapter.

What parents say

“It’s worth every cent if you want something sumptuous and similar to the City Select or Uppababy Vista but without the exorbitant price, and only need one seat.” – K. February 21, 2016, 5 stars

“I searched the market and found this stroller to be the most reasonably priced parent-facing stroller. It’s well made.” – C. November 4, 2015, 5 stars

“This stroller is incredible. Although I was really hesitant to pay that much on a stroller, it was worthwhile. I got it so that my 11-month-old might have a more comfy stroller.” – V. April 8, 2015, 5 stars

Ease of Use

Although relatively spacious, the City Versa’s storage basket is not as good as the City Select’s. It includes an elastic side for easier access and a curved crossbar. That said, it can still be challenging for parents to get stuff in and out of the basket.

This stroller model is identical to the City Mini as per its four 8′′ EVA wheels. Its swivel front wheels can be locked straight to handle more difficult terrain.

The City Versa has an automatic lock when folded, though the stroller is not self-supporting. By pressing two buttons on the sides, its adjustable footrest can be raised.

What parents say

“It moves well and is easily controlled with one hand. I can hold the infant with one hand while putting it together with the other.” – I. December 6, 2016, 5 stars

“I really appreciate the roomy storage underneath and the simplicity of folding. Does anyone know the reason why it was discontinued? I’m hoping it’s not a safety recall.” – E. January 22, 2016, 4 stars

“It took us a little while to figure out how everything folds and unfolds. But once we did, it was quite easy to put together.” – T. November 11, 2015, 5 stars

Portability

The Baby Jogger City Versa is not a lightweight stroller, weighing in at 26.2lbs. Its changeable seat and EVA tires add up to a whopping 10 lbs. extra than the City Mini. The rear wheels can be simply removed to further reduce its size.

Some parents have complained about its weight and the hassle to get it in and out of the car.

What parents say

“If you upgrade to GT wheels, the stroller is nice but can become heavy. However, it’s still a good stroller.” – T. October 2, 2015, 4 stars

“It is strong while also being lightweight. Even when carrying a baby weighing more than 20 pounds, it is simple to fold and push.” – B. July 6, 2015, 5 stars

“I was hesitant at first, but I really like how this stroller folds. It’s ready to be stored with just the pull of the strap in the middle. We still have plenty of trunk room above the stroller because it stores quite flat.” – J. June 16, 2015, 5 stars

Maneuverability

Your child will enjoy a comfortable ride in the City Versa, thanks to its all-wheel suspension and 8′′ EVA tires which significantly reduce the impact of bumps.

Please note that this stroller model isn’t built for running. It’s made for everyday tasks like doing errands, visiting the store, or casual strolls at the park.

What parents say

“It’s smooth and easy to maneuver. Superb! Even though it folds up easily, it is somewhat bulky.” – N. October 17, 2014, 5 stars

Safety and Quality

Parents who took part in our survey did not report any problems. They were all happy with the functionality and durability of this stroller. Perhaps the only hiccups would be its weight, but that adds to the overall sturdiness of the City Versa, plus the lack of a belly bar for your little one’s safety during strolls.

What parents say

“It is sturdy and has a sizable basket. I would pay $200 to have a stroller that can face me because it is really easy to push, the handlebar height is adequate, and I’m 6’0″.” – L. December 3, 2015, 5 stars

“This is the stroller we should use, I’m sure of it. It is durable and has all the features I was looking for. When my fiancé shook it to test whether it would loosen the frame, it didn’t.” – P. October 14, 2015, 5 stars

“Despite it being somewhat heavy, I appreciate how sturdy it is and how long it lasts for extended walks like morning mall strolls to boardwalks on the beach.” – K. May 22, 2015, 5 stars

Accessorize Your Baby Jogger City Versa

The bumper bar and other add-ons are sold separately. The City Versa GT, a version with all-terrain wheels, is also on offer.

What parents say

“The only downfall is I wish it came with a belly bar or tray. As baby gets older, those would come in handy.” – I. December 6, 2016, 5 stars

“I ordered the tray and cup holder. They’re small but provide enough space for some snacks and my little one’s sippy cup. No complaints here.” – L. November 23, 2015, 4 stars

“To hold our beverages, I use an all-purpose parent console that works nicely. Parents often remark on how much they adore our stroller.” – J. July 7, 2015, 5 stars
