Meet the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 Double Stroller

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is a premium umbrella stroller for two. It puts a major emphasis on offering ultimate comfort for its little passengers and helpful features for parents, which are uncommon in this type of stroller.

Its large canopy, comfortable and deep reclining seats, plus user-friendly buckles with 5-point harnesses are features which most parents appreciate. The G-Link 2 offers an ideal sunshade, plenty of padding, and consistent stitching. Where other strollers have struggled with uneven canopies, shaky wheels, and flexing frames, the G-Link 2 is a strong bet for a double stroller.

Value for Money

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 costs $349.99 on Amazon.

Parents who participated in our survey like the fact that their little ones can be protected by this stroller’s UPF 50+ sunshades up to the knee. Although the absence of peek-a-boo windows could be disappointing for some, the new canopies are tall enough to accommodate taller riders.

Given that the G-Link 2 belongs to the lightweight stroller category, it is important that its weight decreased with its redesign from 24.7 lbs. to 21.3 lbs. overall. Parents appreciate that its being lightweight helps them to use it frequently.

It is worth noting that this double stroller comes with some issues, such as lack of features like an adjustable footrest and quality concerns with the belt straps and button which folds/unfolds the stroller.

What parents say

“First of all, considering the price, it lacks a foot rest that can be adjusted for children, and the straps are so poor that my daughter was cut the first time she used them.” – F. May 21, 2022, 2 stars

“Despite just having been used twice, the button that folds and unfolds the stroller keeps coming off. It already seems like a torture to have to press the button each time you want to close the stroller. It is NOT an inexpensive stroller, which makes me disappointed.” – D. April 14, 2021, 2 stars

Ease of Use

The G-Link has quite an unfriendly design for bare feet. Its brakes are challenging to set and release. It is difficult to press the pedal because it is wedged in between two wheels and hardly protrudes from them.

In terms of controlling the stroller, it can get difficult especially when the little ones grow heavier and bigger.

On the upside, this stroller is easy to fold and unfold. Also, no tools are needed for the G-Link 2 assembly. Its instruction manual provides clear and helpful photographs to aid in setting it up. This stroller took about five minutes to set up.

What parents say

“It is frustrating how the stroller needs to be fully folded before it starts to collapse. Additionally, pushing two babies becomes quite difficult.” – L. June 6, 2022, 3 stars

“This stroller is great because it’s simple to fold. It can really get difficult to control, especially as the kids grow bigger.” – L. November 7, 2020, 2 stars

“This stroller is so simple to open, fold, and clean that I got rid of my large double stroller! I bought it for travel, but now we use it pretty much every day!” – P. August 13, 2021, 5 stars

Portability

The G-Link 2 employs the conventional umbrella-folding technique, which folds easily and bunches up similarly to how an umbrella would. It auto-locks and includes a carry strap. Unlike the old G-Link, it cannot stand on its own which is a bit disappointing for some parents.

On the other hand, for something that functions as an umbrella, this stroller has a good amount of storage space. Its 10-lb. weight restriction is higher than that of the other strollers. However, the back access is slightly constrained due to the folding mechanism getting in the way. As a result, it might not be ideal for errands if the primary purpose is to use its storage.

What parents say

“This is a wonderful travel stroller that is lightweight and handles well. It is easily pushed and has a ton of storage.” – C. September 14, 2020, 5 stars

“It’s the smallest double stroller that comfortably accommodates my kids. It fits through doors with ease, and I can manage it with ease as well! Excellent purchase. Strongly recommended!” – T. August 31, 2020, 5 stars

“It actually fits in my trunk (Subaru WRX), which helps a lot. My wife’s car can only accommodate our other larger tandem stroller.” – L. March 5, 2020, 5 stars

Maneuverability

The G-Link 2 is fairly easy to push and turn, although turning does requires some work due to its bigger footprint and flexing handles. Pushing the G-Link 2 isn’t an issue on flat surfaces. Another thing to note is it has the dual wheel per leg configuration which makes it difficult for some parents to push off-road. To add, it is difficult to push with one hand, and turning the stroller takes time.

What parents say

“We recently purchased a double jogging stroller. As it was simple to push, I then realized how dreadful it is to push this Uppa.” – V. March 9, 2021, 3 stars

“It was difficult to maneuver this stroller on wood floors. I can’t believe it would be any easier on concrete.” – T. February 28, 2020, 3 stars

“My husband maneuvers this stroller with difficulty. He doesn’t like using it.” – S. September 23, 2019, 1 star

Safety and Quality

The price of the G-Link 2 matches its excellent design and materials.

Its harnesses are simple to rethread. However, the crotch strap is one-size-fits-all and so lengthy that it could poke some children in the chin.

This stroller’s deep reclining seats are more comfortable than most of the strollers in the competition. It’s because these include soft padding on sling-style seats.

The push handles are comfortable and have a foam cover.

What parents say

“This stroller has fine manufacturing details.” – S. June 7, 2022, 5 stars

“I wouldn’t have great expectations until it reaches 25kgs as it was described. It’s getting hard to move and my oldest is 22kgs. Although I had hoped it would be my final stroller, I don’t think it will survive very long.” – T. September 20, 2021, 3 stars

Parent Tip!

Add a head rest and cushion for your little one (e.g. if you have a three-month-old baby) to provide additional support.

Accessorize Your Uppababy G-Link 2 Stroller

The G-Link 2 includes one removable cup holder which can be placed on the side or in the space between the two back seats. This stroller frame can hold up to two cup holders; you may purchase the second one from Amazon for $14.99.

It also has two zippered pockets on the back of the canopies for storing items.

It doesn’t come with a rain cover, but you can get it on Amazon for $39.99. Other accessories that can be bought separately are the CozyGanoosh footmuff and CozyHandmuffs.

What parents say

“Overall, I would advise using this stroller. However, for its price, I wish it included the rain cover.” – L. September 5, 2019, 4 stars

“This stroller’s cup holder is a significant improvement over the City Select Lux’s weak add-on cup holder. Plus it’s included as a standard accessory which is helpful.” – J. October 9, 2019
