Meet the Chicco Liteway Stroller

Take the Chicco Liteway for an agile trip around the city. It’s an umbrella stroller with single, smaller-in-size front wheels. The seat unit’s backrest has five recline settings, including a flat recline that is practically appropriate from birth. Its safety belts can be changed to accommodate this feature. Additionally, the Liteway’s leg rest can be adjusted.

When compared to other strollers, this stroller is not particularly compact or light, but it does have more user-friendly features than many alternatives in this price range. On top of that, it provides a more comfortable seat for infants.

Value for Money

At the time of writing, it is $109.00 on Amazon. While some of its similarly priced competitors have better alternatives and receive higher overall rankings, the Chicco Liteway seems like a solid bargain.

This stroller achieved respectable ratings for mobility and convenience of use, both of which are crucial for an umbrella stroller model. Due to this feedback, the Liteway is a viable solution for people who prioritize usability over other factors, who have a tight budget, and who have little tolerance for error.

What parents say

“This stroller is fantastic in every way.” – L. July 13, 2022, 5 stars

“This stroller is a bit heavier compared to the Summer Infant. But I think it’s of better quality! I don’t regret the upgrade.” – J. July 11, 2022, 5 stars

“For the money, this stroller is an excellent purchase. It’s easy to use and it’s not too huge or heavy.” –M. March 31, 2021, 5 stars

Ease of Use

The Chicco Liteway has the standard umbrella fold. All you have to do to fold the canopy is pull it all the way back, use your foot to raise the lever on the cross bar, and step on the side pedal. The only problem is that you can’t truly hold a child and fold it at the same time because you have to lean down all the way to the ground.

The double-action brakes on the Liteway are simple to release and are comfortable for sandal-wearing feet. However, they are a little difficult to adjust because the pedal is strong and demands a lot of pressure. Furthermore, it could be a concern that parents won’t take the time to set both brakes before releasing control of the stroller.

What parents say

“It is elegant and attractive, plus it’s simple to put together.” – A. July 14, 2022, 5 stars

“I like how simple it is to open and fold again.” – K. May 16, 2022, 5 stars

“It’s somewhat annoying that the canopy doesn’t actually cover the child adequately, and it pops off when you fold it.” – C. November 3, 2021, 3 stars

Portability

The Liteway is not your standard over-the-shoulder umbrella stroller. While it has a carry strap, it is intended for placing in a vehicle than for carrying around – it weighs 17 lbs.

It employs a typical umbrella fold that works with one hand. It has an automatic lock, but it doesn’t self-stand so it needs to be held upright or stored somewhere with enough space to accommodate it.

What parents say

“My son and I both love it because it’s convenient to travel with. It’s also useful for so many different things.” – M. May 2, 2022, 5 stars

“The stroller is lightweight and simple to operate. In no way is it bulky! I needed this, so thanks.” – B. March 30, 2022, 5 stars

“It is extremely lightweight and portable. The only drawback is that it doesn’t cover the sun well, but since I use a large blanket as a cover, I don’t mind.” – S. March 7, 2022, 5 stars

“It folded easily and quickly for the tram journey back to the hotel.” – K. December 5, 2021, 5 stars

“I like this baby carrier! It is big enough to fit in the rear of my car, and it’s robust and cozy for my one-year-old.” – C. July 23, 2021, 4 stars

Maneuverability

While pushing and turning the Chicco Liteway isn’t too difficult, it struggles when you take it off the pavement.

Even with its locking swivel wheels, this stroller is challenging to maneuver on grass and gravel, making it unsuitable for changing terrains at a park. On the other hand, many parents are satisfied with the way this stroller performs over various surfaces.

What parents say

“The seat reclines for the baby. This stroller has a great grip for maneuvering and carrying it, and it includes a cup holder and a sizable basket underneath.” – M. March 31, 2021, 5 stars

“It’s my favorite stroller. My son is at ease with it. It’s simple to use and rides well.” – C. January 23, 2021, 5 stars

“I love how sturdy yet light this stroller is. It is simple to maneuver with one hand, unlike other umbrella strollers.” – A. June 11, 2020, 5 stars

Safety and Quality

This umbrella stroller boasts a spacious seat with a deep one-hand recline that can hold a child up to 40 lbs. In contrast to the norm, the Liteway is a very durable stroller with excellent back support that may be used from birth. Of course, before placing a newborn in the seat, we would suggest adding some specific padding for comfort and safety.

Please be mindful that the construction and materials utilized to manufacture this stroller indicate its average quality. According to some parents in our survey, it falls short in terms of exposed connection points, rivets, and uneven stitching.

The Liteway’s safety harness waist straps have been criticized for being too tiny to accommodate kids weighing 20–30 pounds. Parents have complained that its fabric is scratchy and harsh.

On another note, others have said that the Liteway doesn’t steer straight.

What parents say

“It’s very comfortable for my infant.” – M. May 16, 2022, 5 stars

“We had a problem with one of the wheels in the previous stroller model, but this newer one appears even more durable. They seem to have resolved it. Compared to our previous stroller, this one is significantly more comfy for our daughter.” – M. May 2, 2022, 5 stars

“It is simple to use, and the quality is simply amazing.” – L. February 11, 2022, 5 stars

“The wheels are problematic – they are difficult to turn.” – P. April 17, 2021, 5 stars

“It seems to be one of the best stroller solutions available. It’s highly practical, especially with its integrated clear window that allows youngsters to gaze out like a vehicle windshield. It provides practical sunshine and rain protection.” – B. October 24, 2019, 5 stars

Accessorize Your Chicco Liteway Stroller

The Chicco Liteway already comes with a detachable, movable canopy with a peek-a-boo window which provides shade for your little passengers. Parents enjoy its comfort and convenience as it features padded push handles, a storage basket, a carry handle, and a cup holder.

What parents say

“The stroller’s cup holder occasionally slips off. Maybe I just installed it incorrectly? Closing the stroller also takes some getting used to.” – S. March 7, 2022, 5 stars

“The additional cup holder and the storage basket are helpful extras.” – C. November 3, 2021, 3 stars

Is the Chicco Liteway Stroller a Practical Buy?

The Chicco Liteway is the highest-quality stroller you can get for this price range.

If you don’t mind a bigger and heavier stroller, the Liteway can be a nice option for families who intend to use it more frequently. This stroller’s considerable weight, however, significantly lowers its overall rating. If you’re on a tight budget, this can be your ideal stroller as it does its job to transport your kiddo comfortably.
