Meet the Baby Jogger City Mini Double Stroller

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double stroller has made it much simpler to transport two young children everywhere. Even with just one hand free for steering, you can still cruise about town. It will even fit through a doorway of typical size!

Value for Money

The City Mini Double is a twin stroller that has won awards and perfectly encapsulates urban mobility. For errand-running or all-day trips in the urban jungle, its lightweight side-by-side design is ideal. Please be mindful that it is not a jogging stroller.

Although it is technically compatible with car seats from different manufacturers, the Baby Jogger City Mini Double can only be used with one infant car seat, which makes it less than ideal for newborn twins. The two seats can theoretically offer the same features and riding experience, and it would be excellent for older twins.

What parents say

“The trays for the stroller can be purchased in pairs for $20 each. A $40 bar is required to attach the trays if you’d like to purchase a cup holder for yourself. The trays are arranged very high. To fold them, they must be removed.” – C. October 13, 2019, 3 stars

“For families with twins or two kids, this stroller is worth its price. It fits comfortably in the rear of our SUV and is foldable.” – B. February 8, 2018, 5 stars

“Worth each and every penny. I’m so fixated on it that I’ve bought a ton of accessories for it, including a traveling bag.” – J. February 8, 2018, 5 stars

Ease of Use

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double is easy to assemble, give or take eight to ten minutes.

In comparison to its rivals, its instruction booklet is decent. It has the same instructions as the Baby Jogger City Mini.

This stroller is capable of folding by itself; when compared to its rivals, its folding method is in fact simpler. After removing the safety straps, you simply need to lift the fabric handle that is situated in the middle of the seat to fold it.

What parents say

“My husband assembled it under ten minutes. It doesn’t feel at all heavy and turns on a dime! It folds up so easily, which also amazed me.” – N. May 1, 2020, 5 stars

“We’ve only had it for a short time, but we enjoy it! It’s very simple to fold and push, and our infant fits in it nicely while reclining all the way back!” – A. March 28, 2020, 5 stars

“After renting this stroller at Disney World, I sold my Graco Sit and Stand double stroller and bought this one because I was so pleased with it. It’s a must! The children are really at ease with it, and it’s easy to navigate.” – A. October 10, 2017, 5 stars

Portability

While the City Mini Double is not the lightest stroller currently on the market, it’s not all that bad for a double stroller – it weighs 28.2 pounds. It isn’t too heavy to carry up and down a flight of stairs.

What parents say

“Anyhow, it is robust, rolls up beautifully, and folds up well for a double!” – M. June 30, 2020, 5 stars

“Oh how I love this stroller. It is perfect size and practically transportable without being overly hefty or bulky! It is really smooth when pushing and riding! Highly recommended!” – M. August 27, 2019, 5 stars

“It is quite simple to fold up and fit into any trunk, and it fits through every doorway.” – W. July 3, 2019, 5 stars

Maneuverability

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double’s multiple front wheels and plastic tires make it a little more difficult to push or spin. Instead of a four-wheel suspension, this stroller features a two-wheel suspension. Kindly note that its front wheels seem to struggle to cross grates and even bumps that are as low as an inch.

The City Mini Double is a stroller that can be used on a variety of terrains, but it’s worth mentioning that flat surfaces are undoubtedly far more conducive to its maneuverability than unlevelled ground.

Please be reminded that to turn this stroller, its front wheels will need to be lifted off the ground. This can be somewhat prevented by locking the swiveling wheels.

It’s quite a narrow stroller for a side-by-side model, with wheels that are no broader than the stroller’s frame. It can easily fit through most doors, thanks to this aspect.

What parents say

“Everything about this stroller is amazing. It’s so light and easy to push. It fits through every door and moves!” – A. June 22, 2019, 5 stars

Safety and Quality

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double has a solid, straightforward structure with a finish that is either spectacular or modest. It features woven canvas seats and a silky fabric exterior that almost seems slick to the touch.

While it may seem that the materials used wouldn’t truly make it breathable, this stroller’s padding is better than the one featured in the Baby Jogger City Select Double, another product from same family.

Fabric completely encircles the stroller’s frame, forming the leg rest and canopies, and it completely covers the stroller.

What parents say

“The stroller is of excellent quality. We can push our two infants around so easily. It’s great how simple it is to roll up. It easily passes through doorways as well. I think it’s the best double stroller.” – N. December 14, 2019, 5 stars

“I bought this stroller after doing a lot of research. Additionally, I was able to take advantage of one of Amazon’s excellent discounts, and I haven’t looked back since.” – A. February 17, 2018, 5 stars

“It is of incredible quality. Both the fabric and the frame are of high quality. My extremely tall 3-year-old twins fit perfectly in it.” – T. January 5, 2017, 5 stars

Accessorize Your Baby Jogger City Mini Double

Numerous car seats from Maxi-Cosi, Baby Jogger, Graco, or Cybex are compatible with the Baby Jogger City Mini Double.

Despite being rather expensive, this stroller has zero extras. You may consider its attachments which you can purchase independently like these items:

  • Compact Pram: $165 to $175
  • Double Carry Bag: $90 to $100
  • Child Tray: $20 to $25
  • Parent Console: $30 to $35

What parents say

“Its lack of a cup holder is its only drawback. However, compared to most other brands, I’d still buy this stroller any day of the week!” – C. January 3, 2020, 5 stars

“It would be helpful if this stroller had a Chicco Key fit baby carrier attachment. The older my baby gets, the more I enjoy it.” – A. June 28, 2018, 4 stars

“This stroller doesn’t come with any accessories, and its small and somewhat difficult-to-access cargo area is one of its drawbacks. Particularly frustrating is the handlebars’ lack of a cup holder or storage space.” -S. August 5, 2018, 4 stars

Is the Baby Jogger City Mini Double a Practical Buy?

A quick update – this stroller is currently unavailable on Amazon.

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double is a side-by-side style stroller with large canopies, underseat storage, and storage compartments at the rear of the seat.

It is fairly compact and fits through most average-sized doors in public places. The best thing is for a double stroller, it’s super lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Sadly, there are some noticeable problems which significantly lower this stroller’s ranking among its competitors. You can only use one infant car seat at a time, so it can’t effectively be called a travel system. Also, while it’s easy to fold, you’d need two hands to do it.

If the above factors don’t bother you one bit, then perhaps the City Mini Double is a stroller option that is worth looking into.
