Meet the Nuna Mixx Next
Designers of the 2020 edition of the wildly popular Nuna Mixx stroller took into account user input from the previous iteration and made a few minor but important changes. Folded size is one of the primary distinctions between the Nuna Mixx and the Nuna Mixx Next. Thanks to a revised axle that allows the back wheels to retract under the frame, the Nuna Mixx Next folds to a length that is 12.8 cm less than the Mixx. That’s good news for those with small car trunks or storage areas.
Value for Money
You might think about purchasing a different item for your growing baby upon learning that some parents in our survey believe the Mixx Next’s seat is too uncomfortable for a child to sleep in. If you don’t find this to be a problem, it’s worth the price. With so many genuinely useful and practical features, it is one of the best pushchairs available.
What parents say
“Perhaps I had higher hopes such as a bigger seat, a fold that doesn’t take up much space, and quieter wheels for such a high cost. It’s a nice stroller, but it won’t last the entire time you need a pushchair, and the cost does not reflect that.” – K. February 20, 2020, 5 stars
“It’s not heavy. Plus it’s really flexible, easy to fold, and my kid is pleased with it. It’s well worth the investment.” – A. April 13, 2021, 5 stars
“Our 1-year-old enjoys it. She’s always excited to ride in this stroller. I highly recommend it; it’s the best money I’ve ever spent.” – R. May 11, 2022, 5 stars
“It’s the worst stroller I have ever used. It is overpriced and not worth it because it lacks a support system.” – L. 1 star
Ease of Use
The Mixx Next’s single-action brake located between the rear wheels is flip-flop friendly and incorporates color indicators. Even when this stroller is positioned on a steep hill, it firmly locks. It’s easy to use and intuitive, although when its storage basket is full, it can be challenging to unlock. Nuna also developed a more compact fold that involved folding the back axle into the frame.
What parents say
“The newborn leg rest feature of the seat is a bit strange. Also, it doesn’t completely lie flat, so I only advise choosing the hard carrycot.” – H. May 2, 2020, 3 stars
“It’s simple to fold/unfold this fantastic stroller. The Cybex Cloud Z Car Seat might potentially be used with it.” – S. 4 stars
“My child appeared to be more comfortable in her car seat than in the stroller seat. I think this stroller would be perfect for only a year.” – R. July 20, 2020, 2 stars
“The handle feels too high for me as I’m just 5’2”. It’s a shame because I really wanted to adore this stroller because it looks wonderful. I simply wish I had done more investigation into that.” – M. 3 stars
Portability
The folded size of the Nuna Mixx and Nuna Mixx Next is one of their key distinctions. By allowing the back wheels to retract beneath the frame, a newly engineered axle allows the Nuna Mixx Next to fold to a length that is 12.8 cm less than the Mixx. This is excellent for your vehicle’s trunk or small storage spaces.
The seat reclines with a simple one-hand lever in 5 configurations, including a lie-flat position. The seat is well-padded, and the harness is really simple to adjust.
What parents say
“It’s been a pleasure using this buggy. Yes, it is heavy, but not significantly more so than any other travel system that can be used on most terrains.” – M. 4 stars
“It’s difficult to transport in a car trunk because it’s heavy.” – A. 3 stars
“To place it easier in your trunk, you can make it smaller by removing the wheels with one click. This stroller comes highly recommended!” – F. 5 stars
Maneuverability
Compared to the Nuna Mixx, the Mixx Next provides a smoother ride because of its upgraded suspension and newly developed rubber wheels at the front; these contribute towards more maneuverability. It glides across any surface and is incredibly simple to push one-handedly. Previously, its front wheels were plastic. Now, all four are rubber tires.
When this stroller was tested by a parent on a variety of surfaces, it handled deep curbs and bumps well. It even performed admirably on a difficult canal route and on a soggy area after a downpour.
What parents say
“My toddler is not being flung around like crazy because of its suspension, which is fantastic.” – M. 5 stars
Safety and Quality
All parts of the Nuna Mixx Next feel of high quality and are flawlessly finished. Not a weak item can be found, and opulent touches like its leatherette piping, pulls, and trimmings on zippers are to be loved. Depending on your child’s development, this stroller can change from a 5-point harness to a 3-point belt buckle. You may adjust the harness up and down based on your child’s age when you combine this convenience with the no-re-thread harness to create a simple-to-use system. This gives a feeling of security to both the pusher and the passenger.
What parents say
“The matte finish or coating needs to be improved by Nuna. Other than that, the stroller is fantastic; it’s high-end, portable, and easy to fold.” – L. July 26, 2022, 3 stars
“Does not appear to have much support around my child. We continue to use our old stroller around the home because it’s the only other spot she is content with besides being held.” – R. 3 stars
“We encountered problems with the initial Mixx’s squeaky wheels, but Nuna quickly shipped out a replacement Mixx after that. Otherwise, I really like how simple it is to operate the stroller. For tall couples, it really works!” – D. 4 stars
Accessorize Your Nuna Mixx Next Stroller
The Mixx Next comes complete with a padded apron and rain cover. Its seat is comfortably elevated. A different kind of adapter is an optional buy, though. For newborn children, there is also a full-featured carrycot with a reversible mattress and an additional internal compartment (or you can get the Mixx Next in a pre-made combination set). The infant is covered by both the Dream Drape sunshade and the canopy in the carrycot. A foot muff, a cup holder, or a toddler tray are just a few of the many add-ons you can get for your Nuna Mixx Next to complete it.
Is the Nuna Mixx Next a Practical Buy for Your Family?
This stroller can be used from birth to 22kg, which is the weight of a child that’s roughly 4 years old. The Mixx Next has a reasonable price and thoughtful design, as can be seen with its one-handed steering and improved fold which is space-saving. Its seat can be quite shallow and small especially for an older toddler but if you’re not bothered by that aspect, then this stroller might be worth a closer look.
