Meet the BOB Ironman Jogging Stroller

With the BOB Ironman jogging stroller, it’s ideal to bring your little one along as you work out because it has a fixed front wheel that provides stability at rapid speeds. Please be reminded that you shouldn’t run with the baby until they are at least 8 months old.

You have all the equipment necessary to set new personal records, thanks to its aluminum alloy wheels and 16” semi-slick tires like those on a road bike.

The Ironman features a state-of-the-art adjustable suspension system which gives your child an incredibly smooth ride. Its simple 2-step folding makes transport and storage a breeze.

Value for Money

When it was still available on Amazon, the BOB Ironman cost $419. It’s now a discontinued BOB stroller model and was replaced by its sibling, the BOB Blaze.

This jogging stroller’s every part and feature has been designed with functionality and your baby’s safety in mind. The comfort and safety of your priceless child are not jeopardized by the Ironman’s streamlined design. It’s truly one piece of baby equipment that performs well under pressure and has everything you need.

What parents say

“I looked into jogging strollers extensively, and this one offers the best value. Our Ironman stroller is a favorite among my family and I.” – P. September 6, 2018, 5 stars

“Due of its minimal weight, the Ironman stroller aids in reducing certain muscular pain. I definitely recommend this if you run.” – V. January 22, 2018, 5 stars

Ease of Use

The BOB Ironman’s handlebar can be raised or lowered, which is why most users find it to be of a comfortable height. To prevent tall parents from kicking the back of the stroller when taking big strides, the handlebar sticks out quite far.

Even with detailed documentation, this jogging stroller was assembled in about 13 minutes. It’s because there are so many details to look out for, so the process takes longer. All you’ll need is a screwdriver and you can simply assemble away!

The Ironman is the choice of parents looking for a compact, secure stroller that can endure the strain of a lengthy run. BOB Ironman reviews consistently give this great jogging stroller high marks.

What parents say

“For users who are shorter or taller than average, the handlebar’s adjustability is a benefit.” – L. June 1, 2016, 5 stars

“The parking brake is fairly secure, and the brakes were really useful on downward slopes. Even a wrist strap is included, just in case.” – S. May 12, 2016, 4 stars

Portability

Folding up the BOB Ironman is easy. Just use its newly additional strap and clip to lock the stroller into the folded position. It can be made smaller via the quick release wheels.

According to reviews, you can place it comfortably in a small SUV, using roughly half the trunk space. But if your car is smaller, be prepared to use the entire trunk.

What parents say

“Its weight is excellent and will develop with the kid over time. It is quite cozy and roomy.” – P. September 6, 2018, 5 stars

Maneuverability

Most parents are happy with the BOB Ironman’s performance. It’s worth noting though, that it has received a few unfavorable reviews for its fixed front wheel, which affects its overall maneuverability.

It’s a little tricky to push and turn because you’d need to tilt it back and turn it to face the direction you need to go. Tight turns are particularly problematic, due to the lack of front swivel wheels.

But according to our test runners, it works well for lengthy straightaways on clean, flat surfaces. Although it struggled a little bit and had less traction when traveling off-road, this jogging stroller rolls over obstacles with ease and is effective on gravel for short distances.

What parents say

“This stroller is not only really beautifully crafted, but it also handles like a dream while running.” – M. June 21, 2018, 5 stars

“Having used it on every surface, I can honestly say that it is a fantastic stroller! Furthermore, I used it to prepare for a half marathon. I travel with it everywhere because I love it.” – L. December 20, 2017, 5 stars

Safety and Quality

The fabric on the BOB Ironman jogging stroller is made of tough, heavy-duty canvas. For nighttime jogging, it incorporates thermo-molded seats and padding with reflective components.

Its aluminum frame is tightly connected, exhibits very little flex, and features high-quality plastic parts that are rigid. No sharp edges on the metal, plastic, or cloth detract from its overall fit and finish.

What parents say

“It is a high-quality product, and I have never encountered any problems with it. With the back opened, the long shade canopy provides a lot of shade and improves ventilation.” – P. September 6, 2018, 5 stars

“The tires are good and big, fully aired, and pleasant to roll, albeit they are quite light and very robust. The fabric is created well, therefore it should last for a long time.” – L. 6/1/2016, 5 stars

“Because of the materials’ high durability, they will undoubtedly last through multiple owners. In fact, durability was considered throughout the whole design process.” – J. May 11, 2016, 4 stars

Accessorize Your BOB Ironman Jogging Stroller

Use the BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter (sold separately) to get out and about with your infant more quickly. To create the ideal travel system, simply pair the BOB Ironman with the Britax BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat, for example.

What parents say

“It contains pockets for drinks or snacks, a tiny basket at the bottom, or you can add more accessories.” –P. September 6, 2018, 5 stars

“I’d suggest getting the car seat adapter for it as well because it runs really darn smoothly.” – P. October 6, 2016, 5 stars

“The adapter fits the Chicco seat quite tightly, and if you prefer to use it while running, it has a safety strap to further secure the seat.” – P. October 6, 2016, 5 stars

Should You Consider the BOB Ironman Jogging Stroller?

The BOB Ironman features an adjustable handlebar that can be adjusted to fit parents of any height, a larger storage basket, and better quick-release front and rear wheels. If having a fixed front wheel works for you, then the Ironman scores points on that.

Its seat can be set to completely upright or reclined with the easy push of a button to allow your young explorer to see the world.

Most importantly, safety and quality are always considered by BOB in making their superb products.

Thus, if the Ironman was a stroller model that was still available in the market, we’d recommend it.

Please be mindful of discontinued stroller models. Make it a habit to check the availability of any strollers you’re looking to consider for your family.
