Meet the Bugaboo Frog
Whether it’s the next-door neighbor or a famous person, any parent would appreciate the usage of a stroller. It’s an essential component of anyone who is responsible for taking care of a child.
The Bugaboo Frog’s suspension is frog-like; that’s where it got its name. Uneven surfaces are no problem when it comes to maneuvering this stroller. Additionally, it has car seat adaptors, which help the stroller’s seat to easily fit into vehicles, therefore making long vehicle trips more comfortable.
It comes in a variety of colors too, so you can choose the one that best suits your style.
Value for Money
If you’re looking for a versatile urban stroller that will make your life easier, the Bugaboo Frog is a great option. However, according to the survey we conducted, some parents are not satisfied. They think that this stroller is overpriced.
What parents say
“Absolutely awful! A CHEAPLY manufactured product sold for a high price.” – A. July 12, 2011, 1 star
“First, there isn’t any storage down there. Never use this for carrying stuff or for shopping at the mall.” – J. October 08, 2010, 1 star
“While on vacation, I had to get a cheap umbrella stroller from another shop. I must admit, I loved it even more than my Frog. But it was so maneuverable and very simple to move around. Wow, I thought, I spent $800 on my Frog, but I like this $20 stroller.” – R. October 18, 2009, 3 stars
“This is just another overpriced trend item that EVERYONE NEEDS after some idiotic celebrity was spotted pushing their spoilt little child about in it.” – A. July 01, 2007, 1 star
“The investment was the best one we’ve ever made. Both my baby and I adore how versatile it is.” – J. May 10, 2006, 5 stars
Ease of Use
The Frog can be used as a 2-in-1 system with the seat and carrycot, or you can use it with the optional car seat to make it a 3-in-1. Some parents have reported though, that it is not the easiest to use.
What parents say
“While I struggled to fold my Bugaboo frame, I started to observe other moms bringing out their various brands of strollers quickly. Folding the frame takes time.” – Y. February 19, 2011, 3 stars
“It’s a little awkward to attach the pram to the chassis and then remove it; it’s not impossible, but it’s awkward. The same goes for loading the pram into the backseat. I constantly struggle, stumbling around while carrying this uncomfortable weight.” – L. January 11, 2006, 4 stars
Parent Tip!
If you’ve already purchased the Bugaboo Frog, be sure to carefully read the instructions or watch tutorials on YouTube to learn how to operate and maximize your stroller investment.
Portability
We love the sleek design of this stroller and the fact that it’s so lightweight. While it’s also easy to fold up and store in small spaces plus take it with you wherever you go, some parents in our survey reported that it’s not that portable, as it is awkward to lift.
What parents say
“Its two pieces are quite irritating. It gets tiresome trying to get things in and out of the car for a quick run to the supermarket or the bank.” – J. July 16, 2008, 2 stars
Maneuverability
The Bugaboo Frog is perfect for parents who want a stroller that can handle any terrain. This stroller has an all-wheel suspension system that makes it easy to push over bumps and cobblestones. It is designed to make maneuvering through tight city streets a breeze, while the brake located on the handle makes it easy to stop quickly when you need to. Turning is easy, thanks to the small swiveling city usage wheels up front.
What parents say
“Steering can become quite difficult. On the plus side, for the first three months, my little one slept soundly in the little bassinet as we took the stroller to our place of worship and to parks. But I wish there was a seat belt in the bassinet to keep her in place. I considered it risky to bring her in stores in this manner.” – T. August 04, 2008, 2 stars
“The wide back wheels enable it to travel over practically any surface and also enable me to climb and descend stairs by myself, one step at a time.” – A. April 03, 2009, 5 stars
“My son enjoys it a lot. The ride is comfortable, and maneuvering is simple. Although the wheels on some strollers are a tad large, you can get around this.” – K. April 28, 2008, 5 stars
Safety and Quality
The Frog’s bucket seat can be tilted to a fully reclined position, ensuring your child’s comfort during naps. It also has an adjustable sun canopy to keep your child shaded from the sun – it could be a bit longer though.
This stroller is a great choice for parents who want a durable, good-looking stroller that can handle anything. However, some parents have claimed that they found this stroller to be a little wobbly and that the cloth is not very sturdy.
What parents say
“It is quite poorly constructed. After 8 months of use, the handle latch sheared. Two pieces and a flimsy structure are a real nuisance.” – T. May 11, 2015, 1 star
“Since the stroller is constructed of cheap plastic, it is unlikely to endure that long. The fact that something so expensive is made so poorly makes me sad.” – J. January 23, 2014, 1 star
“We’ve utilized the stroller for extended trips to the park and it’s still in excellent condition.” – L. June 20, 2013, 5 stars

Accessorize Your Bugaboo Frog
The Frog’s accessories include a mosquito net and a sunshade – these are substantial and capable of providing good coverage. It also includes a DVD with instructions on how to use the stroller, which is a great bonus and really helpful! Along with it, you get a maintenance kit.
Unfortunately, a cup holder or parent console is not included with the Frog.
What parents say
“It doesn’t come with a cup holder, so don’t buy one because doing so will make it very hard to shop in any clothing stores without running into items in the aisles.” – T. August 04, 2008, 2 stars
“It simply lacks a cup holder, which is the one feature I prefer about my other travel system.” – M. October 14, 2006
“It also comes with incredibly handy and well-designed accessories, such as the mosquito net. The need to purchase both a car seat and the necessary adaptors is the sole drawback, in my opinion.” – M. July 30, 2005, 5 stars
Should You Buy the Bugaboo Frog?
The Bugaboo Frog stroller is practical, though some parents are not so convinced about its durability based on their personal encounters with it. At the very least, you can use the Frog until your child is 4 years old, but that still depends on the weight of your child.
Stroller update: this model has been discontinued. Fortunately, there are more up-to-date Bugaboo models available such as the Lynx, Fox, or Bee. Check them out and see which of these stroller models may be more suitable for your lifestyle.
